Scale Computing SAN Cluster Installation

Client purchased Scale Computing SAN storage appliance to add to their existing blade server infrastructure. Current infrastructure included an Intel blade chassis populated with one Intel Compute Module running Windows Server 2008 R2 x64. Compute Module is also running as Hyper-V virtual host for production server and domain controller.

Scale storage appliance installation consisted of 3 separate storage nodes configured in a redundant cluster. The compute module communicates with the storage cluster over iSCSI protocol. Once the compute module and the SAN were setup, the existing virtual servers were moved from the blade chassis on-board storage to the Scale storage cluster. The on-board storage partitions that once hosted the server vhd files were reclaimed to the storage pool for future operating systems.
